The UT team represented the HERCULES project at the 28th Thermodynamics Conference held on 4-6th of September in Delft, the Netherlands, during which the poster presentation was showcased. This annual academic exchange activity provides a platform for professionals working, among others, in the field of energy conversion, molecular modeling, CO2 capture, hydrogen production, porous media.
In this poster presentation:
- Highlights on the use of the thermochemical heat storage system to increase the application of renewable energy in the industrial heating, inclusive of the establishment of the lab-scale prototype, its immersion with the actual steel industry processes, and the delivery of the heat under ultra-high temperature (of more than 1000 Cel. Deg.) were presented.
- In the multi-scale optimization part, the development of a complete three-tiered research framework, including system, reactor and material microstructure levels was also communicated, with different goals and functions and the connection methods of these 3 levels introduced.
- At the level of reactor research, the methodology map presenting the undertaken research route was shown.
