HERCULES at the 11th Symposium on Turbulence, Heat and Mass Transfer, July 2025, Tokyo, Japan

The innovative work of the HERCULES project was showcased by the UT team at the 11th Symposium on Turbulence, Heat and Mass Transfer as held on 25th of July in Tokyo, Japan. As a premier event for discussions on turbulence and heat transport, it provided an ideal platform to share insights and connect with experts on flow instabilities in porous media.

Our presentation on flow instabilities in regular porous structures sparked engaging discussions on transport phenomena in porous media, both during the Q&A and informal exchanges. This reflects the ongoing efforts within HERCULES, focusing on:

• Reactor Design - Advancing reactor design processes and numerical analyses.
• Material Synthesis - Developing innovative materials for enhanced performance.
• Structural Optimisation - Optimising structures at the material scale for better efficiency.
