4th Consortium Meeting, November 2024, Online

Happy to announce that on November 28-29 the HERCULES project had its consortium meeting (18-month meeting), which was held online. 

Key Achievements and Progress:

  • Material Breakthroughs - Our team presented exciting developments in synthesizing highly active, non-toxic, and non-critical redox materials. Achievements include:
    • High energy density
    • Excellent cyclability
    • High thermomechanical strength.
  • Computational Advancements - Explored advancements in computational material research, including:
    • Fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer in porous structures
    • Reactor design optimization and system-level analysis.
  • Reactor Development - Extensive discussion on reactor development including high-temperature insulation, and electrical heating systems.
  • LCA & Techno-Economics - Our experts shared preliminary Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and techno-economic analysis results, setting the direction for future research.

The HERCULES project continues to advance cutting-edge research and innovation.
